Together Time

Today I was talking to Luke and I mentioned how next friday is his field trip. He lit up and asked if I was going with him. When I said yes, you should have seen his excitement. "So, you get to spend time with me?!" "Only me and you are going to be together, right?"

It melts my heart that he is so excited to spend some quality time together. But, it makes me sad too...is he missing this as much as I am on a daily basis? I let the day to day get in the way of time with my kids. The very thing I think goes way to fast and I will never get back. I need to just be and enjoy what I have NOW. So, my bathroom is going to sit half cleaned and the clothes in the dryer are going to sit and I am going to go sit on the floor with my kids and be.
